About Us
Who we are...
Starhill Stud is owned by me, Sara, and Andrew van Oostrum. We have both had horses since we were small and between us have over 80 years experience with all types of horses!
On the left you can see me qualifying Horsehill Playschool for Royal International small hacks at Royal Bath & West.
History...
I started my equestrian career working with welsh ponies and arabians, moving up to Rosevean Stud (Riding Ponies) before working with racehorses and showjumpers. My love of show horses prevailed however, and having a show hack with the Ramsays got me back in the ring whilst producing m&ms at home for clients to Olympia level.
A spell working with Guy Landau followed, then after that a great time was had with Carol Bardo and Jayne Ross producing top Riding Horses, Hacks Cobs and Hunters. I now have my own stud of show ponies alongside a select band of livery horses and my own website selling show and sporthorse kit, Total Impact Equestrian...

So Andrew, when not helping at the stud is normally found astride a large hunter as he was senior master with the Staff College & Royal Military Academy Sandhurst Draghunt for 25 years and the Berks & Bucks for 6. He also has a huge interest in racing and has ridden the odd point to point winner!...
Then of course is our team jockey Isobel, 10 years old and already addicted to showing and racing!
